Sailing in Northern California

Sailing in Northern California in general and the Bay Area in particular presents a number of challenges to any sailor. For a start the water is cold, rarely rising above the mid 50s (15C). Secondly there is the well known bank of off-shore fog which is all too prevalent during summer. Add to this a mix of strong currents, six foot tides and commercial shipping.

Bareboat Charter in Greece

We first chartered a boat in Greece in the summer of 2005. We took a 43 ft Jeanneau from the Moorings base in Kos. The island of Kos is in the Dodecanese, about a one hour flight South East of Athens.

Our second charter was a bit more ambitious. Once again we chose Moorings due to the quality of service and boat we received from them the first time, but chose instead to start a two week charter from the marina in Kalamaki just South of Athens.

Bareboat Charter in Croatia

We plan on chartering a boat for a week in Croatia in the summer of 2007. Our plan is to arrive in Dubrovnik on Wednesday July 25th, 2007, spend a few days touring Dubrovnik and then drive to Split to pick up a boat for a week. I'll give a full write up after the charter with tips on what we found and how you can do this your self.

Bareboat Charter in La Paz, Baja Peninsula

We plan on chartering a boat for a week in the Sea of Cortez, Baja Mexico in February 2007. I'll give a full write up after the charter with tips on what we found and how you can do this your self

Twenty years from now

you will be more

disappointed by the

things you didn't do

than by the ones

you did.

So throw off the bowlines.

Sail away from the safe harbor.

Catch the trade winds

in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover.
